Objective

Be the first player to get rid of all your cards. When you play your second-to-last card, you must shout "UNO!". If another player catches you not saying it, you draw 4 cards as a penalty.

In tournament play, points are scored when a player goes out. The first player to reach 500 points wins the game.

Setup

The Uno No Mercy deck contains 168 cards. To set up:

  1. Shuffle the entire deck thoroughly.
  2. Deal 7 cards to each player.
  3. Place the remaining deck face down to form the draw pile.
  4. Flip the top card of the draw pile to start the discard pile.
  5. If the first card is an action card, its effect applies immediately.

How to Play

Play proceeds clockwise. On your turn, you must play a card that matches the color, number, or symbol of the top card on the discard pile. Alternatively, you can play a Wild card at any time.

If you cannot play a card, you must draw one card from the draw pile. If the drawn card can be played, you may play it immediately. Otherwise, your turn ends.

Stacking Rules

In Uno No Mercy, Draw cards can be stacked! If a +2 is played on you, you can play another +2 (or a +4, +6, or +10) to pass the penalty to the next player. The draw amounts accumulate. The player who cannot stack must draw the entire total.

  • +2 can be stacked with +2, +4, +6, or +10
  • +4 can be stacked with +4, +6, or +10
  • +6 can be stacked with +6 or +10
  • +10 cannot be stacked — the next player must draw

The deck includes number cards from 0 to 9 in four colors: Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue.

  • Each color has one 0 card and two of each number 1-9.
  • Number cards have no special effect — simply match by color or number.

Action Cards

Uno No Mercy includes all classic action cards plus devastating new ones:

Classic Action Cards

  • Skip — The next player loses their turn.
  • Reverse — Reverses the direction of play. In a 2-player game, acts as a Skip.
  • Draw Two (+2) — The next player must draw 2 cards and lose their turn (unless they can stack).

No Mercy Action Cards

  • Skip Everyone — Every other player is skipped. You get another turn immediately!
  • Reverse Draw Two — Reverses play direction AND the next player draws 2.
  • Discard All — Discard ALL cards in your hand that match the current color. This can dramatically reduce your hand size in one play!

Wild Cards

Wild cards can be played on any card regardless of color or number:

  • Wild — Choose the color that continues play.
  • Wild Draw Four (+4) — Choose the color AND the next player draws 4 cards. Can only be legally played if you have no cards matching the current color.
  • Wild Draw Six (+6) — Choose the color AND the next player draws 6 cards. A devastating No Mercy exclusive!
  • Wild Draw Ten (+10) — The ultimate punishment. Choose the color AND the next player draws 10 cards. Cannot be stacked. This is the nuclear option.

Here is what makes Uno No Mercy different from the original:

  • Stacking is official — Draw cards can be stacked, unlike classic Uno official rules.
  • New brutal cards — +6, +10, Skip Everyone, Discard All, and Reverse Draw Two are all new.
  • Larger deck — 168 cards vs. 108 in classic Uno.
  • Faster elimination — With Discard All, games can end much faster.
  • Higher stakes — Draw penalties can reach 20+ cards with stacking.

When a player goes out, they score points for the cards remaining in opponents' hands:

  • Number cards (0-9) — Face value
  • Skip, Reverse, Draw Two — 20 points each
  • Skip Everyone, Reverse Draw Two, Discard All — 30 points each
  • Wild, Wild +4 — 40 points each
  • Wild +6 — 50 points each
  • Wild +10 — 60 points each

First player to 500 points wins the match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Stacking is an official rule in Uno No Mercy. You can stack +2, +4, +6, and +10 cards. The amounts accumulate and the player who cannot stack must draw the total. The only exception is +10, which cannot be stacked on top of.

If you play your second-to-last card without saying "UNO!" and another player catches you before the next player takes their turn, you must draw 4 cards as a penalty.

You can play a Discard All card when its color matches the current discard pile color. When you play it, you also discard all other cards in your hand that match that color.

Uno No Mercy adds brutal new cards (+6, +10, Skip Everyone, Discard All, Reverse Draw Two), makes stacking official, uses a larger 168-card deck, and creates much more intense gameplay with higher draw penalties.

Each player starts with 7 cards, same as classic Uno.
